DIY GOLF GRIPPING

Secure the golf club in a  bench vise.  Cut off old grip with utility knife, using particular care not to cut into the surface of a composite shaft. Remove remaining adhesive or tape by peeling or scraping surface carefully. Wipe shaft clean with a safe solvent.

Apply double-sided grip installation tape.  Smooth carefully to avoid leaving wrinkles.

With index finger covering the hole in the grip end cap, squirt a liberal amount of solvent inside the mouth of the grip. Pinch open end of grip and shake to evenly distribute solvent within the grip. After a shake pour the remaining solvent in the grip of the entire length tape part of the club.

Align grip design with clubface. With grip tilted slightly, quickly push over end of shaft, using thumb pressure to guide. Grasp firmly with both hands and push forward until grip end cap is fully seated against shaft end.

Remove club from vise and make final alignment adjustments.

After installation is complete, wipe away excess adhesive with solvent-moistened cloth. Allow grip to set up overnight before use.
